x 5 Little Monkeys Cafe x

I felt pretty bad showing you guys the sub-par quality of the photos taken on my first trip to the cafe, so I told myself that on my 2nd trip, I gotta do a better job! This time, I went in the noon so there were brighter lights to help me take a clearer and sharper shot!

We had the usual Assam Fish and even on the 2nd trip, the quality still remained really good. Seems like we can give 100% trust to this dish now!

On the first trip, the chicken dish we had was disappointing so we decided to try the chicken curry instead. They could really do more with the portion! But the chicken was tender and the level of spiciness was just right to both of us :) Still a dish worth trying! We definitely preferred this over the other chicken dish.

The mandatory shot in front of the wall which has their shop name printed on it! It has always been Ed's wish to be able to take photo (without getting much attention from the diners and staff). Feel free to approach the staff if you'd like them to take photos for you! One of the staff gladly offered to help us but we rejected bc we were shy hahah

Since we're on our way to town and will be passing by Bugis, I told Ed to go search for a shop with me. Apparently Rich & Good Cake Shop (located right in front of the Malay Heritage Centre) has been shared by food bloggers and seems like even tourists will come here specially for the cake (or maybe they simply chanced upon a cake shop) as I saw a Korean tourist entering the shop.

Once the door opened, the aroma of the cakes can be smelled and it was heaven. The shop is quite simple - a sheet of paper stating the different flavors of the swiss rolls available and nothing else. I've also heard that the flavors are limited so it may run out of your desired flavor! Prices are an average of $8, depending on the flavors. I know it may seemed expensive, but you also get twice the length of what is offered in a normal bakery shop!

I was lucky enough to get the Kaya and Chocolate ones. Kaya was one of the most recommended flavors as it wasn't too sweet! I thought that would suit the elderly best and true enough, my mom - who isn't a fan of sweet stuff - approved of this! The swiss rolls were soft and moist, with rich cream. It was neither too buttery nor creamy; just the right amount which was a great balance. Can't wait to go back again for other flavors.

Back in town to catch The Avengers: Age of Ultron and we both think it's nice but the previous series were better~

Looking forward to watching many other movies with this boy!
