The catch-ups.

Sunday's dinner was at Menya Musashi @ Westgate after work with B. Just thought of catching up a little.

Highlight of this post is definitely the dinner with my cafe-hopping budz after my work! Decided to go for something more pocket-friendly, but delicious at the same time. After walking around, I recommended Chicken Pot as my sister had tried it before and commented that it was nice. We gave it a shot and thought that $25.80 for a large chicken hotpot was not that bad of an idea!

There were 4 of us - 3 guys and 1 girl. 2 of the guys got extra bowl of rice and they managed to finished all of the main ingredients, so you can see that this serving is just nice for a table of 4!

Some things to take note of when dining at Chicken Pot:
  • Price of the hotpot does not include rice.
  • Each bowl of rice costs $1.00!
  • There are 3 different level of spiciness to choose from - Non-spicy, mild spicy and spicy (we chose mild)
  • There are add-on available at the price of $1.80/$2.80/$3.80 depending on the color of the plates.
  • No plain water is served! You gotta buy their mineral water at $1.80
  • They charge you for the appetizer (小菜) they serve at a freaking $2.00!
Overall we had a satisfying meal. It only cost me $9.95 in total, which was definitely more worth it as compared to the usual cafe dishes (at least $15 per pax??) and this was so filling.

Not much of cafes really worth the try at Jurong, so we went to gave the much hyped-up Starbucks drinks a shot! Usually, their seasonal drinks are really damn nice, but i've no idea why this time round, it's pretty disappointing to not just me but all four of us.

The taste of the Tiramisu tasted quite artificial, and the topping wasn't the shortbread but Graham Crackers, which was used for Strawberry Cheesecake!?!?

Moving on to Strawberry Cheesecake. The sketching depicted strawberry jam swirls drizzled in layers, but it showed otherwise when we had it. It was merely on top of the whipped cream. The drink itself tasted just like any other normal strawberry ice-cream blended.

I don't think I'll try it again? After all, $7.60 for this isn't worth it, let alone paying $9.20 for the biggest size.
Sorry Starbucks for slamming you so hard. I just don't feel good paying so much for sucha drink, or rather, I've expected more coming from you!

Anyhooha, I've had a great time with these guys just chilling at Starbucks and chatting about everything over the chicken hotpot!!!
