x Habitat Coffee x

Since 2 weeks ago, my clique have been planning to have a brunch session together.  With the use of Chope, we initially had the plan of going Lola's Cafe. However, they only limit the no. of pax to maximum of 4.

Habitat Coffee was another alternative of ours, and they actually allowed maximum of 10 pax to be reserved! The cafe is also much more flexible in terms of time slots, and have wider range of choices for their brunch menu.

Upon reaching Habitat Coffee, the staff was quick in serving us (table for 5) and were immediately brought to our table. Thumbs up for service~

Habitat Ham & Cheese

Simple and classic combination of Ham & Cheese can never go wrong!

Open-faced Smoked Salmon

Smoked salmon are usually salty. However, the ones from Habitat were just right. A dish approved by the girls (who were so hesitant in ordering them)~ Just take note that the sourdough can be slightly tough when cutting, but it's good when in the mouth!

Salmon Truffle Eggs (not too sure of the name, but there's scrambled eggs, tomatoes, truffle oil, cooked salmon bits and sourdough loaf)

I didn't get to try this dish from my friend but the scrambled eggs appeared to be cooked to perfection: slightly runny and so appealing! I loved how the tomatoes added colors to the plate and makes it a healthy-looking dish. The entire portion was just right to cover up the sourdough at the bottom and they were not even a bit stingy with the salmon! Maybe a little more potato cubes around the scrambled eggs will make the dish look nicer :)

Main Course: Chicken & Egg

I've never exactly come across a dish that combines poached eggs and roasted chicken leg; the common ones are always the egg benedict (which is also available on the menu). While it's an unique dish, the poached eggs were 100% cooked and the hollandaise sauce didn't have any distinct taste. My friend even thought that  was the egg yolk that flowed out! Once again, they could've been more generous with the potatoes. After all, potatoes aren't expensive at all.

On the brighter note, the roasted chicken was very tender and the sauce went really well with the meat! To add an extra flavor, squeeze the lemon and drizzle them over the chicken. It's reaaaally good.

Summer Berries Hotcakes

This beautiful (and colorful) plate of hotcakes are definitely to-die-for! With the maple syrup soaked at the bottom and also drizzled on top of the hotcakes, it can definitely satisfy your (extremely) sweet tooth! The hotcakes were also topped with a great dollop of cream cheese and some butter.

While the stack is really thick, it wasn't starchy at all, but the soaked maple syrup at the base could make it slightly difficult to handle. Having this solely for brunch could be quite sickening, so it's a great-for-sharing plate of goodness! Thinking about it makes me drool now...

Home-made Churros ($9 for 8 pieces)

Having had the churros from Grub, this definitely fared way much better. The chocolate dip was less watery as compared to the  However, it was somewhat uncooked inside and there was way too much sugar coating that I joked to my friend "I've sugar lip gloss now!".

For a cafe that do not charge GST and service charges and yet still offer affordable prices for the items, it's definitely one of the must-try - or if not, worthy - cafes to visit. Good environment and service, with above average food but reasonable prices - what's not to love? I also like how they do not offer too much of beef, pork and seafood; this cafe is totally for me!

Oh, not to forget, they've WIFI for everyone to use! All you need to do is to ask the staff for the password and you're good to go.

Can't wait to go back again to try other stuff on the menu~
