A For Arbite

Some day one or two weeks ago, I met up with Ed and his friends for dinner. They were very nice to ask Ed to bring his Plus 1 along, so I thought why not plan for our dinner since they already asked me to come along? I chose A For Arbite which is located conveniently for everyone!

First off, let me just say that A For Arbite has got very good service.
We asked for a table of 6, but we were told that we can only stay until 8PM as all tables were reserved at that timing. It was 7PM then and it was definitely way too rush for us. When we're about to leave, the lady (I suppose is the supervisor?) held us back and told us that one table has been given up.

*HOORAY*
Here we are, sitting down with Salted Egg Yolk Fries which was really good. The smell was strong enough - not too overwhelming - and bits of salted egg yolk could be seen and tasted. The portion was great for sharing too!

Miso Tagliatelle ($18)
Funny how we tried to learn how to pronounce "Tagliatelle". The lady was kind enough to speak slowly for us so that enthu-learners like us can understand. It's actually an Italian word which refers to the pasta - similar to Fettuccine, but thinner!

Pan Seared Salmon ($20)
I know the base of the vegetables looked awful in photos, but trust me when I said it's so good. Supporting the salmon was mashed potato. Everyone also agreed that the salmon tasted really fresh!

XO Duck Tagliatelle ($16)
If I didn't remember wrongly, the one who ate this said that the portion was quite big and it gets a little salty after eating too much. We guessed it's because of the smoked duck

Malabar Chicken ($15)
There were 6 of us but 3 of us had the same dish, so you only see photos of only 4 dishes. Malabar Chicken tasted slightly bitter which might be bc of the spices used. Still, a reasonable-priced dish. Not too sure if I'd like to eat it again tho!

A For Arbite is a cafe worth visiting! While prices of the mains ranged between $15-20, you can expect good amount of serving and taste. It definitely didn't disappoint! Fans of Matcha might want to give the "Liu Sha French Toast" a try as the toast is soaked with matcha and the liu sha flows out of the toast! Seems amazing and I can't wait to try already.

Ending off our dinner with group shots! They've been a good bunch to hang out with.

Headed for desserts at "一碗甜品" located somewhere in the Serangoon Garden too. There's always a long queue, like the guys said. Durian and Mango lovers, head down to grab a bowl of simple yet delicious dessert!

Please look forward to more cafe posts as I slowly discover more hidden gems for y'all
