#Travelogue: Seoul II

Day 2 - Monday 15 Sept 2014

Monday marked the start of our company visits (which was the main purpose of our trip). To kick start the day, we first visited Chung-Ang University. Really amazed by their school's architecture! Wished Singapore has got such pretty buildings too *coughs*

Our cute student ambassador Jessie, explaining to us about the history of Chung-Ang University.

This is something that I remembered vividly from Chung-Ang University. The globe, wrapped by the dragon, contains a secret that has been kept for many years. CAU will be opening up the globe in 2018 for their 100th Year Anniversary!! I wonder what secret has been kept in it... Hmm. Anyway, am so excited for their anniversary and no doubt it's gonna be a freaking grand one!

My korean gang, and those two guys are student on exchange (left) and student ambassador (right). Really friendly bunch of people! Thank you CAU for having us!

I thought lunch was simple with just the bibimbap, but there's the hot pot AGAIN! Even though it was mostly filled with vegetables, there was pork :( If you start seeing the round-faced me, don't be shocked. It's all because of.... PORK!

Next stop was Ewha Womans University!! Despite it being an University, we were all still very excited to be here due to the shopping heaven just right outside the campus.

Ewha Womans University feels very much like *Scape, where you've campus nearby the shopping area. There were shops that sell cheaper (read: cheaper) apparels and also the higher pricing ones, such as Top Ten (the font is almost the same as Topshop's but it's Japanese brand clothing if I'm not wrong)

And... Welcome to Ewha Womans University! This is the actual campus and it's so freaking huge, I kid you not! We were first led to a Welcome center, where we got to watch an introductory video of the campus, and off for a campus tour led by a Year 2 student!

Its architecture concept is also European style, which made me feel as though I'm in Italy or France. Apart from being super duper spacious, I like their campus for having a theater (which allows students to watch any movies available, even though it's not blockbusters), a huge gym (with glass windows!) and also cafes like Starbucks! There were also other shops such as Optics shop and Telecom, as well as Fashion shop selling clothes made by Ewha's Fashion graduates.

After some (incomplete) shopping, it's time for our dinner and we had the Dak Galbi (Dak = chicken, Galbi = ribs). Chunks of marinated chicken (no ribs are being used despite its name 'Galbi'),  stir-fried vegetables as well as rice cakes (aka ddeokbokki) are all mixed together in their chili bean paste (aka gochujang). It's usually in super huge servings and is relatively cheap, and thus it's also being known as "commoners' galbi" or "university students' galbi".

Enjoyed this dish to the maximum even though it's pork.... HAHAH but still. :) Left for hotel, then roamed around Insadong. Nothing much, just some traditional stuffs, cosmetics and cafes along the streets! Pretty quiet at night and I'm thankful for the peace I've gotten.
